Bio: Rick spent the first six (6) years of practice as an active duty U.S. Army JAG Officer, prosecuting, defending, physical evaluation board and legal assistance officer with another seven (7) years reserve duty as a prosecutor. Admitted to the Army Court of Military review and COMA. In 1984, began civil trial practice with Page, Scrantom, assisting in medical malpractice, various wrongful death and insurance defense, products liability as plaintiff and defendant, along with child support recovery and DFACS counsel in Juvenile Court. From 1988 to the present, practice extensively in debt collection, creditor rights, landlord – tenant disputes, small business formation and representation; complex civil and bankruptcy litigation, service as counsel to various Chapter 7 trustees; Estate litigation, service as guardian ad litem. Participated in100’s of Court appearances and trials, appeals to Courts of Appeals and the Supreme Courts in Alabama and Georgia; trials and appeals in bankruptcy and U.S. District Court, 11th Circuit and U.S. Supreme Court. Admitted to the U.S. Tax Court. Since 2015, served as Pro Hac Judge in Municipal Court of Columbus and associate Magistrate Court judge in Muscogee County on as needed basis.
